About NFRSA
Northeast Frontier Railway Sports Association(NFRSA) was founded in the year 1958. Since then NFRSA has produced many International and National level Sports persons. Over the years NFRSA have recruited more than 1000 sports persons against Sports Quota. The main objective of NFRSA is to allow our athletes to maximize their potential by utilizing world class sports infrastructure and turning into medal winning performances at Olympics and other international sports competitions.
At present NFRSA is having about 20 International Players who had represented the country in Olympics, World Championship, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, Asian Championship, Asia Cup, etc, in various sports events.
N.F.Railway Sports Association (NFRSA) sports body is one of the important Sports bodies of the State of Assam having affiliation with most of the Sports Associations of Assam. NFRSA is also running 14 Sports Academies under each aegis to nature potential of the local youths of Kamrup (Metro) & Kamrup (Rural) , entire North East and NF Railway Zone by providing facilities as well as imparting training under experience National/ International players and coaches in each sports events. These academies are : Archery, Athletic, Aquatic(Swimming), Basketball, Badminton, Boxing, Lawn Tennis, Cricket, Football, Golf, Table Tennis, Skating, Volleyball, Wushu (Self Defense) and about 2000 student are being imparted training at various training facility centers around Maligoan area in the state of Assam, India.
Approx. 250 sports persons are actively participating in various sports championships mainly at National & International level. Most of the players from N.F. Railway have brought glory to the nation and NF Railway by winning Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in various International & National tournaments. Some of the players were awarded by Govt. of India in Sports field.
Five players and one coach from NF Railway represented India in Commonwealth Games 2022 held at Birmingham in UK and few players have already qualified for Asian Games, 2022 to be held in China.

2. Miss Renubala Chanu, Weightlifter – Arjuna Award.
3. Miss Sapna Barman, Athletics – Arjuna Award
4. Shri Arambam Boby Singh – Body Builder – 10 times Mr. World winner.
